Pride Niagara is partnering with Brock University Professional and Continuing Studies to present the 3rd annual Speaking with Pride Professional Development and Networking Event.
This education session is for 2SLGBTQI+ positive organizations, individuals and allies who want to enhance and / or improve their Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging practices; as well as individuals who want to inspire change in their workplace or advance their career to foster change.
This year’s theme for Speaking with Pride is “Welcoming Diversity”.
This is a free event. Registration is required.
Attendees will hear from Keynote speaker – Alyy Patel, author, activist and scholar.
Sonali (Alyy) Patel (they / she) is a trailblazing 2SLGBTQI+ activist, creative, and award-winning researcher who has made monumental strides for Queer South Asian Women in North America. Notably, Alyy pioneered research on Queer South Asian Women’s issues, being the first to shed light on their unique racial challenges in 2SLGBTQI+ communities. In addition, Alyy solely founded and built from the ground up the Queer South Asian Women’s Network — a thriving Canadian non-profit organization.
Alyy is open to signing copies of her book Don’t Tell My Parents: Queer Diasporic Truths available for order on Friesenpress.
