The year is 1932 and the Welland Ship Canal is set to open soon, while its chief designer John Laing Weller is in the final months of his life.
In this first-person interpretive program, participants will be taken on a nostalgic and sometimes boastful walk down memory lane by the eccentric J.L. Weller himself. Weller will share photos from his personal collection, reflections on the canal's construction, as well as anecdotes and a tall tale or two! J.L.'s daughter Olive will be there to help keep him on point!
This engaging and interactive walking tour takes place on the Museum grounds adjacent to Lock 3. This program is geared to an adult audience. Children over 12 are welcome with adult accompaniment.
Registration is required. $11.40 per person.
